About Cluj-Napoca

SpeD 2013 will be held in Cluj-Napoca, the charming city that will fascinate you with the mystery of its history and will capture your heart with the beauty of the river Someș, surrounding lakes and Western Carpathian Mountains. Cluj-Napoca is located in the North West of Romania (Transylvania region), being the second most populous city in Romania, behind the national capital Bucharest, and is the seat of Cluj County. Geographically, it is roughly equidistant from Bucharest (441 km / 276 mi), Budapest (409 km / 256 mi) and Belgrade (465 km / 291 mi).

Transportation

Cluj-Napoca is easily reachable by practically all means of transportation having regular and frequent road, rail and air links to international destinations.

  • Cluj-Napoca International Airport it is located 9 km (5.6 miles) east of the city centre. There are regular flights to/from Bucharest, Austria (Vienna), Belgium (Brussels Charleroi), Czech (Prague), France (Beuvais), Germany (Munich, Dortmund), Hungary (Budapest - CARGO), Israel (Tel Aviv), Italy (Rome, Bari, Bologna, Bergamo, Trevisto), Great Britain (Luton), Netherlands (Eindhoven), Spain (Zaragoza, Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona)
